The Planning Stages of a New Year.

By far one of the best purchases that I have ever made on Teachers Pay Teachers has been the following item:
https://bit.ly/2QhFhWs - visit here to look at more of the product for yourself.

As you may or may not know - if you looked at the name of my blog then you do - I am from South Africa. Therefore, this product was not cheap for me. Consider the fact that the dollar to the rand exchange rate is typically around $1 for R14. Then this product cost me a pretty penny, but it was completely worth it.

I have six unique subjects to prepare for so this planner was very helpful to me - especially in the terms where I have been the focus driver of that subject. Focus driver simply means that I do all the planning for that term because we do parallel teaching or team teaching at my school and I share the teaching load of a grade with sometimes up to two different teachers.

Here is an example of how I am using my weekly planning weeks:

The table makes it very easy for me to copy and paste what I need to share with my colleagues into a term planner but at the same time allows me to grey out blocks, make notes about the lessons and even insert pictures for the lessons that need it.

There are many different ways to use this document, and I end up creating one for each term. It has saved me time, and I use it on a daily basis during the term. When teaching something that I had planned I can mark it off and make notes on specific students if I need to.

There are also some helpful forms as an added extra that you can make use of, for example - the communication log.

Whatever you decide to do - planning is an essential part of a teachers day, week, month and year. This planner has helped me tremendously to make sure that I have prior planning and not fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants planning.

Good Luck to you all in your planning endeavours this year!
